The service menu on Sony Ericsson handsets can be accessed as follows:
Using the phones keypad, enter > *
The arrow keys represent manipulations of the directional button. That could be a joystick or a 4-way button. Whichever, use left and right along with the star key and the service menu should appear.
From there you can see various information about the handset and edit the various bits of text used throughout. I can think of some rather funny deployments for changing the menu text, but alas, April 1st has come and gone :p
