I've always liked this product. Even v.6.20 knocks spots off the built-in WAP browser. Uses keyboard shortcuts, very fast and intuitive, v.8 supports four way scrolling, improved SSL rendering.

Definitely worth a try IMHO.

Details here http://www.opera.com/products/mobile/products/s60.

Sorry to drag an old thread up, but as Opera 8.6 (http://www.opera.com/download/mobile/?man=Series60-2.x&heading=Nokia%206680&img=/img/products/mobile/nokia6680.png&extra=Opera%20for%20Nokia%206680%20is%20a%20free%2 0pre-registered%20version.) is free for 6680 as is Opera Mini 2.0 (http://www.opera.com/products/mobile/operamini/phones/?phone=nokia_6680), I was just wondering what the differences are and if it's really better than the 6680's own browser. I did use opera a while back, but it was pretty useless on three, but as I'm getting vodafone next week I was wondering if I should install another browser?

Just as a wee addition to this thread, i've never used any other browser than the ones preinstalled with the handsets... Until this little Opera mini came my way! So far i'm extremely impressed, so much so i'm posting this from my 6680 using it just now! Not sure if i'll be able to go back to the my nokia own browser! ;)

IMHO Opera Mini is streets ahead of the built-in browser.

Its genius is to process page requests on its own server, not on the phone. This has three benefits:

(1) The app itself is tiny, and fast.

(2) It only retrieves the data necessary to render correctly on your phone's screen. So processing is relatively quick, even when 3G is unavailable.

(3) Less data = less £££. And if you're roaming at £10/Mb this can add up.

Finally, it's designed by folk who really understand phones. Pages adapt well to the small screen and most commands are executed by a single keypad shortcut.

As if all this weren't enough, it's robust - and, of course, it's free.

I've just installed mini and it's excellent, much better than the inbuilt browser. And yes i'm posting from my 6680.

Ok! Downloaded Mini.. Its cool. Much better than the normal pre-installed Opera browser on my N70.

In fact.. I'm posting via my N70 now!
