Interesting to note that in Australia 3 have now replaced the term '3G' with the word 'Broadband'.

This make sense as most people have some knowledge of what the difference between dial-up and broadband speeds are in relation to wired data services.

I expect we well see more of this practice as networks try to educate phone users about the benefits of UMTS services Vs GSM.

Have Orange not already started doing this? When they launched their UMTS network the tag line was "why, it's practicly broadband for your mobile". The only thing I can think that's wrong or confusing about promoting it this way is that people associate broadband with sitting at home on their PC.. not while out and about on the mobile, "that's just for making calls on you silly sausage!" ;)
