LONDON -(Dow Jones)- 3 UK, the U.K. mobile telecommunications company owned by Hutchison Whampoa Ltd. (0013.HK), Tuesday said it sees a big opportunity to exploit advertising opportunities on its network.

3 UK is seeking a media buyer partner to expand advertising on its network.

Demonstrating the potential, Chief Executive Bob Fuller told a press conference that over one week, 100,000 users chose to view the trailer for the British movie 'It's All Gone Pete Tong,' while 160,000 users, over the course of another week, chose to view the advertisement for Apple Inc.'s (AAPL) iPod nano music player.

"It's a completely new revenue stream for us," he said.

Fuller said that the company will look to offer advertisers both click-through adverts, which the user chooses to view, and targeted adverts which send adverts directly to users based on their interests and behavior.

On the sidelines of the conference, Fuller said he would be surprised if 3 UK found a partner by Christmas.
