I ordered a Nokia 6680 on Friday from Live Telecoms, who assured me they had stock and even booked me a Saturday delivery with CityLink.

Infact, their website (http://www.livetelecom.com/) even claims "IN STOCK NOW!!!" today.

I've just called them, and they're certainly not "IN STOCK NOW!!!" - the lady, who was rather eager to get me off the phone, said they were expecting the handsets in today.

With Expansys still not expecting their stock until the end of April, I don't really have a choice but to let my order remain for now. I'll call Live Telecoms again this afternoon and ensure my order goes out.

I'll keep you posted, but for a company that lied to get £400 of my money I'd strongly suggest it's one to avoid.

Edit: Another online store claiming stock that doesn't actually have any is The Order (http://www.theorder.co.uk/) - again, one to miss!

Update: Ok, I received an email at about 4pm telling me they (live telecoms) now have the handset and it will be sent special delivery to reach me tomorrow. I'm not holding my breath. Still, fingers crossed - at least I have an email now, before everything was verbal. It's so hard to know who to trust on the Internet.

I am now the proud owner of one Royal Mail Special Delivery tracking number. That means they're 10% forgiven. Now it's just a case of wait and see - what have they actually sent me I wonder?

It looks like supplies have dried up again for the time being. Vodafone plan to start selling during the first week of May, and I'd imagine Orange and the rest will also start around that time - once someone jumps they'll all go.

What the supply issue is I don't know - perhaps the fact that this handset is made in Finland is pushing Nokia to produce enough handsets. A lot of other recent handsets have been pumped out of their factories in cheaper countries.

Reassuring to see Live Telecoms website says Out Of Stock... I'm sure my experience was a one off?
