I have just heard that 3 are launching the LG U890 today in the UK.

Like the U880 but with Razr like keys I think.

Features include a 1.3 megapixel camera, 2 colour screens and expandable memory via transflash[/img]

Heh.

In my view the LG U890 takes the worst of two worlds. It incorporates the annoying keypad of the RAZR, which is a massive letdown to an otherwise attractive design, and puts it into the awful design of the LG U8xx. Even it's own mother couldn't love it!

Still, I'm sure this phone will be very reasonably priced considering its feature set.

Looks like LG are going back to their old ways of releasing the same handsets over and over again just changing the looks. They could have at least put a 2mp camera into this. Not impressed really...also does it have less internal memory than the u880 (80MB--->68MB)?

I suspect the GSM 'chocolate' handset will be the big breakthrough for LG in the UK. All 4 GSM networks are taking it apparently and its sold 500,000 in 3 months in South Korea.

I agree the LG line-up appears to be quite limited in terms of 3G product. Only 3 have supported their range heavily and the two companies appear to be closely linked, which may have a lot to do with the big 4 steering well clear of LG 3G handsets. Perhaps they dont want their services confused with the company that has prominently supported LG's 3G devices in the UK to date.

I think LG will have to offer other networks completely different models that have little similarity to the ones they provide or have provided to 3 to make further inroads..

Shame that, really! Hardly planning ahead for an 18-month contract are they?

I saw this phone yesterday on the Gadget Show on Channel 5.

They were comparing it to the Motorola V3x and concluded it was not as easy to use due to flat small keys.

No sign of it on 3's UK website yet.
