UTStarcom F1000 WiFi

How do I connect to a local Hotspot with my F1000 WiFi phone?

The UTStarcom F1000 WiFi phone will connect to Hotspots with the following characteristics:

1. Open, where no encryption is required.
2. WEP encryption, both 64 bit and 128 bit. The encryption key will need to be provided by the Hotspot provider.
3. WPA-PSK, where the pre-shared key will need to be provided by the Hotspot provider.

We have seen successful connectivity with the following types of Hotspots; Airports, Train Stations, Petrol Service Station, Motorway Service, Retailers, Pubs, Café, Restaurants, Hotels, Universities, Schools, etc.

The following websites provides a variety of ways to search for Hotspots. Search options include, Street name, Town and post code. It shows free hotspots in Hotels and Airports.

Please note that Hotspots that require a user name login, or credit card entry are not supported at this time. Also some free Hotspots require a web interface to acknowledge use, which the F1000 doesn't support.
