Look at the blue lines going down the front in that first picture. They're not straight, or the same width!

Urgh.

It looks like Motorola aren't through shoving this tired old format down our throats just yet.

Rock on HSDPA though! :D

the v3x was an interim product, the maxx is what should have launched but had hsdpa added to it causing the delay

Is it likely to be an exclusive to 3 or will it be more widely distributed?

Why would it be exclusive to 3?

They look like being slow off the mark for HSDPA with Vodafone and T-Mobile well out in front. Vodafone already has it in most major cities amd T-Mobile rolling out for launch in August. 02 are not far behind AFAIK. 3 have made some noises but nothing concrete which is hardly surprising as they have no business customer base which will be the first to appreciate the additional functionality of HSDPA.

I expect the MAXX and the other new 3G Motos to be distributed to all of the networks but expect Vodafone and T-Mobile to have the HSDPA varients first.

I wondered if 3 would take them exclusively, even if they have not HSDPA in their network yet. A total waste of a good phone though. Although, as you say, the other networks are ready(ish) for HSDPA terminals and so would be more suited.

I think T-Mobile could make lots out of the MAXX with their Web N Walk (and Pro) tariffs for those who want and could make very good use of a handset+data terminal rather than just a datacard (me).

this phone looks class and by the looks of the features list is everything the v3x should of been.

i think voda + three will get it first followed by the rest about 6-8 weeks later. mind you its about time motorola brought out another 3g phones as 1 per year is not enough i mean look at sony erricsson they just released 2 together and lg + nokia are always releasing new 3g handsets and all the time they are refining the look, style and software of their handsets and motorola are still stuck with the same old software they were using 5-6 years ago and what is with the 2mp camera that is so 2005, yea the outer design looks good and the blue light thing looks really stylish but the camera specs leave alot to be desires given that the v3x has a 2mp camera and the picture quality was really lacking and the maxx has no improvement over that !!!!

i was trying to make this post to play up the motorola maxx but looks like i cant even do that as on paper its nothing special full of features but nothing unique to make u want to own the handset. i was one of the first people to get a v3x and upgraded early but due to the fact that there is nothing better comming out i think ill wait this time. one thinfg i do hope though is that motorola book up there ideas in quality control as the rubber coating on my v3x has started to peel and is rather annoying especially when three wont do nothing about it as its only cosmetic and as the maxx looks alot more complicated on the front with touch sensitive front i can see alot of problem with this phone comming.
