I am interested in either updating my W900i firmware to the latest Vodafone and/or rebranding it to a generic W900i.

Where are the flasfiles and updaters for this kept. I can't find them on the SE Support Website. But I believe that SE has provide some of this service for quite a while now.

SE w900i support pages. (http://www.sonyericsson.com/spg.jsp?cc=global&lc=en&ver=4001&template=ps1_1_3_1&zone=ps&lm=ps1_1&pid=10333)

That's as much support as I can find for it, a distinct lack of SW support I must say, you have to go into the global section of the SE website just to find the w900i! :(

What's your software version, Hands0n?

I'm not even sure how to find it on the W900i - there is no obvious menu! You did this before, how do I bring up that info?

I think it actually has a menu option somewhere, in software update (but you might not have that). Try this: https://talk3g.co.uk/showthread.php?t=2253

That worked :) Thanks ...

I got a series of numbers ....

R5AF001
Prg CDC 1250247_VODAFONE_SA R5AF001

UA Ver CRH 1069 179 R2B022 2005-11-22 12:35

I'm guessing that the "Prg" value is the firmware .....

Latest version is R5BC004 according to http://www.wotanserver.com/ 7euros to update. SEUS doesn't appear to support the W900i, but you could always goto the SE site, goto the support for something like the W800 & try it from there?

Cor! 7 Euro is not bad at all for a firmware upgrade, thats around £5 (more expensive than Free from SE but it appears to be generic firmware too

Supported features/operations: (Firmware R5BC004)

* Upgrade phone firmware
* Change phone language
* Debranding (remove operator settings)
* Change CDA to desired number
* Reset total call time
* Read phone security code
* Supress camera sounds
* Enable full-featured Networks menu (2G/3G)

I think I'll have some of that ......... (scary ....) ....if I can't get any joy out of SE.
