Just seen the new 24" Imac

Not sure whether to be pleased & excited such a beast now exists - or furious that

A) it only costs about £100 more than my 20" Imac

B) that the 20" Imac has come down to £999

C) that the 20" I can now get for £999 has numerous upgrades on the one I spent £1229 on less than 6 months ago (extra 512mb ram - extra 2mb l2 cache , 2.16g processoer instead of 2g .... )

Feel like crying to be honest :( :( :( :( :(

The difference isn't that huge. You've got a fanatastic computer that you should be very happy with. Updates and price changes happen all the time - I only just acquired 4 (old) new iMac's but you just have to accept it as a fact of life.

That 24" iMac looks superb. Good for Apple! I'm sure it'll entice many new users to the cult :D

Oh yeah , thats life I suppose :D

The thing is ... I could live with the spec upgrade OR the price crash ... but BOTH ???

On a serious note - the 17" 1.83g ones at £679 are a steal ! and , like you say , should lure a few of those fence sitters over

All for the greater good I suppose :D

Hehe, indeed! Those 17" iMac's with the integrated graphics really are the ideal solution for the casual computer user, and the price is fantastic. I'm hoping that this is just the start, however, and that the use of Intel processors is going to allow Apple to launch some great new products over the next 12 months and beyond.
