3 have announced their prices terms and conditions for their X-Series service which will launch on the Nokia N73 and SonyEricsson W950i on Dec 1st 2006.

All Internet access is via the handset and NO HANDSET MODEM USE IS ALLOWED as part of the package.

Looks very much like a Web'N'Walk compeditor.

Apart from, according to Trusted Reviews, W&W will not only permit modem use with HSDPA but also IM and VoIP when used as a modem. So W&W may actually still be king.

W&W Plus allows Modem use within the 3GB FUP for £12.50pcm. Contrast the 1GB FUP with X-Series and the explicit stipulation of "No Modem Use" and other restrictions.

The X-Series is not a competitor for W&W, missing the target by a long way.

Rather dissapointing.

All that talk about mobile broadband and fixed pricing but no modem use!!

It's just web'n'walk standard with a few novelty attachments of limited practical use really.
