The EU has released a policy document calling for frequencies to be allocated with no restriction put on what they can be used for.
Anything, and I mean anything, that leads to the faster deployment of new wireless technologies in this country would be great in my view. I think we'll end up with more robust wireless infrastructure as a result as new technologies will get a chance to prove their worth without needing specific licences.

In other words, it could mean that we end up with the best wireless technologies being used, rather than the ones the big boys can afford a licence for and that have the most commercial backing.
