Ok, when did this happen? I guess it was inevitable, but the N73 uses miniSD, as the N80 did, and it makes life so much easier when you can just pop the card out of one phone and then straight into another.

*has a brief grumpy moment*

Wouldn't it be nice if things like memory card formats could actually get some traction!

Hah, no, sorry - I can't get on board with that grumble. Pop-Port is just evil!

...though it has been around for so long that obviously it's going to peeve a whole lot of people off...

Still, evil! :D

Sure every new phone I've had (capabale of expandable memory) has always had different memory types and they've all been nokia.

They were consistent for a long while - then it all fell to pieces. I think them starting to get hammered by more innovative manufacturers probably had a lot to do with it.

you can get hold of microsd to minisd adapters.

Kingston do bundles of microsd cards complete with separate minisd and full size sd adapters.

Yeah, I do like the way memory cards tend to come with adapters for upsizing to their larger counterparts.

If only it worked the other way around, though, eh?
