I found this article on a Blog. If true, it does rather seem to expose T-Mobile to the wrath of Ofcom (if they can be ar*ed). The article is a bit long and has other media so I'll just post the link here for you to visit.

Bear in mind, it is a Blog and so could be as accurate as your redtop daily :D But it is all rather sinister all the same.

What do you think? Should any telecomms company be allowed to bar other telecomms providers numbering ranges? If so, where would/could this all end?

Well, no, they shouldn't be allowed to restrict access to other telecomms numbering ranges.

At the very most, they should be limited to a pre-recorded announcement before connection explaining that the call to (whatever number) will cost (however much).

The point of the mobile networks is to connect people. Connections. The moment they start disconnecting themselves is the moment they start to become obsolete.

It does rather set a precedent that could take the UK telecommunications infrastructure down some very undesirable avenues. I would personally like to see T-Mobile censured for this, coupled with a heavy fine to set an example to any other network that is thinking of such uncompetitive practises. This may even be eligible to draw the wrath of the EU Commissionaire Vivian Reding (gawd bless 'er).

Good luck, Truphone! I don't care if T-Mobile own the network, they're still a telephone network and if they start refusing to connect calls then what's the point!

Well I, for one, hope that the courts give T-Mobile a firm slap. What absolutely poor behavior on their part. Disgusting :(
