I'm on day 5 of a 30-day trial of Spamsieve (http://c-command.com/spamsieve/) (see picture) which is based on Bayesian filtering and other stuff to help bring down the levels of SPAM that are filling up my Mail.app boxes. This never used to be a problem as I used POPFile on Windows - but the Mac version of it seems a bit problematic to use. After a bit of looking around I came up with Spamsieve which will cost me $30 (USD) if I subsequently decide to buy it.

But before I make any commitment I was wondering what Anti-SPAM measures our other esteemed Mac users on Talk3G use?

Also ...I came across this rather nifty Bluetooth SMS Texter (http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/24915/bluetooth-texter) application that uses your Mac and Bluetooth Phone to send texts without having use use the handsets's keypad - nice when you've the pair up and running -

I don't use any SPAM filtering on my mail app, I pop forward from Gmail into Thunderbird and both of them are very good at keeping the junk away, Gmail's filtering seems to be excellent! Obviously only proper mail is forwarded on from the web based inbox and when I log in occasionally to have a clean up (as everything is saved in there, which is very handy) the SPAM folder is usually bulging, all of which Gmail has kept away from the Thunderbird app!

I use this Widget all the time.. it just works! :-) As all Mac software seems to! :)

I have a .Mac account and, despite never really using it, if I fire up Mail.app on my Mac mini I'm always blown away by the volume of SPAM. No idea why it's so bad.

That said, ideally SPAM needs to be filtered out before it gets that far - through something like SpamAssassin on the server side.

I agree - SPAM needs to be dealt with before you download it. I use SA for my Domains not perfect - a lot gets through, but it's something!
