PC suddenly wont register phone

When I connect my phone in 'file mode' the PC said yeaterday it was unrecognised. I re-installed the PC suite from the sony ericsson website, but now my computer doesn't register that theres anything AT ALL connected.
Anything I can do?

How frustrating!

Have you tried plugging it into a different USB port? It sometimes works for me when my Windows box stops recognising a phone.
