In a nutshell, it's the best desktop computer around

iWork '08 has just taken a Recommended award! What on Earth is going on over at TR :p Great to see a site I respect enjoying Apple's latest crop of products so much.

A full Leopard-running multi-touch tablet would indeed have me reaching for my wallet. I'd want some way of getting online other than WiFi, though!

You would imagine something like this would be connected to the hilt, HSDPA, Bluetooth, WiFi, GSM etc, I don't think Apple would let it out any other way!

One comment about that TR piece, it's verging on the "too geeky" even for my liking...

Of course all this is to be taken with the usual fists full of NaCl...

He's put the chemical symbols for salt. That's just too far. I bet he was beat on as a child at school, and possibly still by his office colleagues!

Q2 2008 is far away enough for me to not feel too cheated by nipping into Bluewater tomorrow to pick up an iPod Touch 16GB :D

If they do not stack up the comms on the forecast Apple PDA they'll be doing themselves a real disservice. The modern-day PDA user expects to have a full set of comms capabilities. Nothing less will do. It is up to Apple to read the market correctly - and so far they've not made mistakes.

One thing for sure - we need'nt anticipate Apple releasing a PDA as a firmware update to the iPod touch - which is a pity. That would really be a "cake and eat it" moment :)
