Nice resource, good to see this pulled together in one place. I was a bit confused at first as to why I was getting blank pages, then noticed the numbers in parenthesis :)

Is this a USA resource only? I had a quick flick through and saw nothing from Europe or elsewhere. If it is USA only then it would be of limited in Europe.

Should be good when there are sites in more of the categories. I'm not keen on -pedia names, but I think it could be popular with enough content. One of those 'build it up bit-by-bit and see what happens' type projects, me thinks.

Hi Guys, thank you for your comments, actually we are in the middle of improving the navigation and just added sorting by countries:
http://wirelesspedia.com/show/country/United_Kingdom
There are companies from around the world, but the most telecom companies, especially in the mobile applications area are from the US.

In the next few months, we'll be changing completely the design and home page and improving the navigation, so hopefully it will be a fun resource and useful one.
Here is a link to your web site:

Thanks, 3gman, much appreciated.

It's good to see the categories filling up. Your google ads are unobtrusive, too.

The Search isn't functional for me at the moment, is that something you're developing? It'd be a great feature.

Hey Ben, yes the search functionality is not working yet sorry about that, but we are working on it right now.
By the way, why do you guys do not put any advertisement on your web site?

Good stuff, I look forward to giving it a try!

Regarding advertising, it's one of the things we decided against when we set up the forum, along with the Code of Conduct (https://talk3g.co.uk/showthread.php?t=1). It's not that there's anything wrong with advertising, it's a fundamental basis of the modern Internet, just that we're very sensitive that it may give, or appear to give, the forum a bias. Obviously individual members have their own opinions, which is great, but we wanted the forum itself to be neutral. This has the advantage, of course, that those involved in retail etc are not threatened by Talk3G as a resource as they might be by a similar, commercial venture. Getting people to contribute extensively to something that makes money for somebody else is a hard sell! ;)

Thanks for asking, it's something I haven't thought about in a while.

I think that the thing is once a Forum such as this goes commercial it introduces all manner of connotations. Should the Mods be paid a fee? It is no longer an amateur or altruistic venture - altruism being the cornerstone of the Internet after all. Why, then, would anyone want to "work" for such a place for free? And so it goes on. Eventually, or perhaps that should be ultimately, the Forum becomes nothing other than a promotional vehicle for the comercial interests.

I would much rather see a clear separation between a Forum such as Talk3G and any commercial resource that was a mirror of it.

Got to love the British humor and all of my friends with it – Ross McGowan in Edinburgh, David Hallard in Namibia, Jamie Pearcey, Africa, Australia or wherever you are… But let’s hope that England and Scotland qualifies for Euro 2008.

I can't even get to it at the moment - the link times out.

Safari could not open the page “http://www.wirelesspedia.com/” because the server stopped responding.

We are still working on the search capabilities, hopefully in 2-3 weeks will be rock n rolling...
Hands0n, I think you were not able to open the link because you have paranthesis at the end of your link...

We have integrated a Google Custom Search Business Edition telecom & mobile search engine on wirelesspedia that searches not only in the wirelesspedia telecom directory but also on all of the company web sites about 2,000 companies, we think this is a pretty good and give you more relevant and accurate results rather than searching the whole web site. What do you think guys? Really appreciate your feedback.

We just launched a new design and much improved the navigation, can you guys let me know if the way we have organized companies by wireless technologies makes sense to you:

http://www.wirelesspedia.com/Hardware_Vendors_Equipment_Manufacturers

really appreciate your help and feedback.

It's looking good. There's an issue with the search box though - in Firefox it always appears as if in an iFrame or something, surrounded by scrollbars.

we have fixed the "search box" on the home page, and if you click on the home page by the keywords you can do the search by them right away
