This is really winding me up !

I have stopped using M4E , because it reduces my E90's battery life to about 8 hours !
I decided to use the default mail client and set it to check my mail every 30 minutes - this is all configured correctly , and all was well to begin with , but then I reaised the e90 had missed quite a few (inportant) mails
The e90 beeped , and displayed to new mails... so I opened the client , and there they were
I selected one and , although I have "messages and attaccments" selected in preferences " , the "connecting to mailbox" dialogue came up
"Funny" , I thought ,.... then , the two new mails completely vanished ! no trace of them whatsover ! - yet if I opened the web browser and go to Gmail , I can see them , clear as day , unopened
I did a manual retreival , but it still didn't "see" the new mails
I deleted the mailbox and started again - still the same problem

Left it overnight - woke up this morning with 5 new mails in my inbox (on the webmail) - but only 1 on the E90 , again , a manual retrieval made no difference

TBH I have never used the POP client on my previous S60 phones , always opting for M4E .. is it generally poor , or is it a compatibility issue with Gmail perhaps ?
I think I am going to go back to M4E , but perhaps cut the retrieval down a lttlle

Afriend of mine swears by 'Good Mobile Messaging' - don't know if you've ever heard of them.
I've never used them - opting for M4E like yourself.

But yeah - check out Good.

Check out Consilient (http://www.consilient.com/). I've been using it for a while. It's ok, free, and supports push. I just check my mail when I feel like it, so I don't leave it on, but I don't think battery life should take a big hit.

You don't get html mail with it. Profimail was my favourite, but I can't be bothered paying for it now. There just doesn't seem to be a point.

The inbuilt client is rubbish. On the E65, the email account I had set up managed to delete itself.
