New Apple Keyboards don't work with Bootcamp

Well that was pretty well thought out , wasn't it ?

Picked up a new keyboard for my iMac today ...and in doing so have lost the ability to choose which partition I boot to via the alt key

Apparantly the problem is , the new keyboards are simply not recognised at all during boot up - which is a pain
Fortunately , you can use the Apple remote to switch from windows to OS X though - by holding down the menu key on start up

Surely the keyboard can't be totally ignored, there's like a million key combinations that have to be pressed at startup to do various things. Mhm. Are you able to call Apple?
