Hi guys

I think I know the answer but want to make 100% sure.
I have a Nokia 6600 which runs Symbian Series 60 software.
Is this the same on Nokia 6630 ?

Will ALL of my software run on the 6630 or are there any differences ?

I mainly use large programmes such as Route 66 and TomTom navigator.

Thanks for your advice

Welcome to Talk3G!

There are some differences - the 6630 has a newer version of the OS and so some of your applications may not work. Many, however, should.

Also note that your 6600 memory card will not work in the 6630. New Nokia cards are Dual Voltage (work in old and new phones). The lower voltage of the slot on the 6630 will make your old memory card incompatible.

Thanks very much for that Ben.
Just another quickie, I know this is not the correct place to ask but, I was thinking of buying a 6630 off eBay locked to orange. Would I be able to but my PAYG sim from my 6600 in to it and use it as normal ?

thanks again for your help.

Putting an Orange PAYG SIM should leave you able to use the phone, yes, but it will not be able to go into 3G mode. It might be worth considering upgrading through Orange from PAYG to a 3G contract with the 6630 - you could probably get a very reasonable price.

Otherwise, it's still a great phone, and I'm sure Orange will launch PAYG 3G one day!
