If the phone is not 3G and you have loaded a 3 USIM into it then I don't think you'll get too far with MMS. In fact, you may well find that 3 will disconnect you after a period of time using it in 2G. This is because with 3 the only way they can deliver you 2G is via another network operator (Orange and O2) and these ops charge them for the privilege. They will let you roam onto their networks occasionally or where there is no 3 3G signal - but they won't want you on there all of the time.

What happened to your proper 3G handset?

Welcome to Talk3G!

Unfortunately, even if you do get MMS working, as Hands0n quite rightly says Three will probably block your handset.

You must use a 3G phone on Three - they are a 3G network only.

As far as I know, 3's usim only work in 3g handsets. I've not been able to get a usim to work in any gsm handset.

It has been documented that some 2G phones have worked on Three in the past. Now Three have a larger handset range you don't really hear of it so much, but it used to be that those 2G handsets that did work didn't work for long.

I knew you'd pick up on that! It's a thread on here somewhere, but the sims aren't supposed to work. I've tried and failed everytime, but then the 2g phones I've tried are pretty old, at least 4 years old! so in 3g terms ancient.

Best advice would be to get a cheap 3g handset for xmas.
