6600? Is that a typo or something? :S http://europe.nokia.com/6600

Nothing thrilling here, but then again - unless Nokia builds it the size of a house - very little it makes is. Still, given the company's stranglehold on the market mostly achieved through making simple and affordable handsets introducing this trio isn't going to hurt one bit...

The '6600' in clamshell and slide form factors and sliding '3600' make up the bunch and each brings something to the table. In the case of the 6600 'fold' you get a 2.13in OLED display with 3G connectivity, a 2MP camera with double LED flash, and an alarm system which can be set to snooze simply by double tapping the handset. This method can also be applied to rejecting incoming calls.

As for the N96-lite lookalike, the 6600 'slide', you get a slightly larger QVGA display, 3.2MP camera and integrated Nokia Maps (something which can be installed on most phones) and the same double tap functionality. Lastly the 3600 slide brings another 3.2MP camera, Nokia Maps and a smaller - though unspecified screen.

Yes, Nokia was rather light on the tech specs. On the other hand it did fill the release with lots of metaphors about touch, sensation, beauty, sophistication and other marketing fluff. The 6600 fold, slide and 3600 will all go on sale sometime in Q3 with sim-free RRPs of €275, €250 and €175 respectively so while Nokia may not tell you much, it isn't asking the earth either.

Way to rack up millions more (quite dull) sales boys.
Gordon doesn't seem to care that not everybody buys iPhone's and N95's :D

Those SIM-free prices have got to drop, €275-€175 is a ridiculous price for these handsets.
