Its dropped 50% to £49.99 on PAYG for the 3 Mobile Broadband dongle.
Previously the device was offered at this price as a limited student offer but now everyone can pick one up for less than £50!!

They're cutting prices faster than the news media can write stories about it! I wonder why they're so keen to rush to the bottom of the market? I can appreciate that this is probably their only chance to seriously increase their subscriber numbers given how much tougher the mobile phone market has been than anyone at Three could have predicted. Perhaps that, then, is why they're determined to make this work - it's their ticket to picking up enough subs to make running a national network profitable.

This is very cheap. Considering that Vodafone charge £99 on a 12 month contract at £15 a month for the E220, for 3 to be selling them at £50 outright is ridiculous. Maybe they are clearing stock for 7.2 modems?
However, my concern is the same. If the network gets to many customers, I can see it just slowing to a standstill, which would be a shame.

The Huawei E220 is an awesome piece of kit. Ok, so it's a little cheap feeling (it feels pretty empty!) but it pulls great signal and has always been an admirable performer for me - better than any data card. Plus compatibility is so great.
£50 is definitely a bargain. I'd love to get one just to monitor what's going on with network capacity :D
