Does anyone on here happen to know whether a 3GB data allowance relates solely to downloads, or whether the amount includes uploads too? E.g. if I downloaded 2.5GB and uploaded 1GB in a month with a 3GB package would I be going over my allowance or are they only interested in the down stream?

It's combined, so download & upload both count.

Is this in contrast to Vodafone's offerings? My mate who is with them is convinced it's only downloads that count towards his limit, but he might be misinformed.
EDIT Per the Vodafone site they refer to a 3GB download limit which does appear to suggest they are only interested in data received. If this is the case it's an interesting difference from Three's model.

AFAIK, it's data consumed, on all networks, up and down. But stating a 'download' limit is certainly an interesting choice of words - perhaps one that Vodafone et al should be quizzed about. I'll try and remember to give Voda a call and ask, I need to make a tariff change on one of my 3G Broadband accounts anyway but haven't had time as yet.
