What a marvelous price for a stupendous 3G/HSPA "mobile broadband" USB (http://shop.vodafone.co.uk/shop/mobile-broadband-devices/usb-modem-stick-topup-and-go?compatible=false&WT_ref=INT-Hmpg-Lyr3-Mbb-4)stick. This was previously £79 on contract and goodness knows how much for PAYG.

Not a bad offer when you consider that the stick comes "pre-loaded" with 1GB of data which is the equivalent of a £15 top up.

Top ups themselves, as suggested above, are also £15 per GB which according to Vodafone represents :-

that's 30 hours surfing, 650 emails and dozens of downloads.

Its the usual "No contract. No monthly bill. No fuss." deal and because you're not in a contract you pay the premium for it (contract Mobile Broadband is £15 per 3GB). But this is probably no big deal for the low volume data user. Those with more serious aspirations need to look elsewhere than this offer.

I think the £15 for 1GB is taking the p. Its £10 a Gb on three and £15 for 3 G which means folking out £45 pounds for the same ammount here.

The idea of no run out date is great the price is rip off

You're absolutely bang on, £15 for 1GB is a very high price to pay. But Vodafone have never been the cheapest in the land, ever. :o

I disagree. I personally think Vodafone have the right idea for PAYG broadband. 3 dont give you a choice. Its a contract without a contract. You top up, again next month, and the month after, and after and after, even if you need it just to check a few emails on the go. Tmobiles is to confusing. £2 a day, £10 a week, £20 a month. Just have one price.

Vodafones is perfect for alot of consumers. The fact is, you top up 1GB, and you can do whatever the hell you like with it. Its yours. You can check one email today, and then not use it for 2 months, then plug it back in and know you dont have to fork out another tenner just to read an email again. You dont top up your phone and then expect your credit to get wiped after 30 days do you? (like 3 used to do  ).

Ok, you get less for your money, but for the huge majority of people who only need it once every few months to check a few emails, its perfect, and much better value for money then the other networks!

I still have some allowance left on the initial 1GB i got with my Vodafone modem back in December. Never really use it now i have a T-Mobile 530 modem as i generally find it faster, have 10GB a month allowance and only pay £15 for the month because its on a T-Mobile Discount :D

Well you're not supposed to USE the PAYG option , the idea is you buy the £29 modem and then put your iPhone SIM in it :D

LOL - an excellent plant sir. But I suspect that these USB sticks are locked to the Vodafone network. My £15/3GB contract one is.

" But I suspect that these USB sticks are locked to the Vodafone network" Not when the one shown is for the O2 network.

Me thinks you need to call into specsavers again!
