BBC Click's Dan Simmons puts on a short 2-minute head to head of the iPhone 3G S vs the Nokia N97. A bit tongue in cheek, but nevertheless an interesting "must see" as some of the unique plusses and minuses come out briefly.

Dan only has two minutes to show these two handsets off, so do not expect a comprehensive review. But as an aperitif into these two handsets it is quite a nice presentation

Now that we already have iPhone 3G S and Nokia N97 owners on Talk3G should we expect their own comments to follow :D Please ?? You know you want to ... ;)

Haha I like the bit at the end where he says "Youll have to decide if your a Nokia fan or an Apple fan, or just to save yourself some money".

Lol. Well, idk about the rest of you, but the Nokia doesn't look quite as good aesthetically in terms of hardware or software!

The specs are better, of course, so if the quality of the touch screen is acceptable then maybe it's the device of choice for specnophiles.

Remember, the Nokia N97 touchscreen is "resistive" that is it is pressure sensitive (if what he says is true ....), which means a membrane cover, which means a softer screen, which means easier scratched.

Come on chaslam, spill the beans, is this so? Hoping it isn't, I'd rather be wrong about the resistive claim.... but I can't see resistive being done any other way than by pressure-sensitive membrane ... And that for me is a huge "no-no".

In terms of the touchscreen, I dont have a problem with it. Its not perfect, but its not bad. Its definitely useable. Scratches isnt something that many people should worry about, as Nokia supply it with a screen protector already covering the front of the phone.
