From RTE Business (30/05/2005):

Prepaid customers with Vodafone Ireland can avail of 3G services from next month which include GAA match highlights and full track music downloads.

The football and hurling championship video download service contains the best moments from each game, along with commentary and post-match interviews.

Vodafone prepaid customers can also avail of full track music downloads from a catalogue with over 16,000 artists and 250,000 tracks. A subscription costs €5.96 for four tracks per month, or €1.99 each.

From the 2 June prepaid customers can trade up their 2G handset and will get a €100 discount off 3G mobile devices.

I wonder if this could be a pointer to what Vodafone might do in the UK in the Autumn when handsets become more available.

I wonder

However is the IRE market as booming as the UK market and maybe this is to attract the IRE customer on board. Plus IRE is now a massive place it would be easy to upgrade to 3G and attract more revenue for Voda
