Cool - do Nokia do full firmware updates OTA?

yes they do, but some network branded nokias are missing the above details, 3 uk being a well known culprit, as the 6120 Classic is capable of FOTA (firmware over the air), but 3 uk do not include the settings

FOTA has been enabled since the Nokia 6300 was released

I had FOTA on my N80 back in 2006/2007 I forget when it was released and I'm too lazy to check, but it had FOTA. Most of the time it didn't work, you usually had to do a hard reset then update via FOTA to get it to work. :)

Just been having a look around and I'm pretty sure the N80 was 2006, so yup its pretty old, and to be fair it was pretty slow on its feet even in its day. :D

Heh. I always wanted an N80. Then joined a firm in early 2007 which gave me one to use as the company mobile. After that I didn't want an N80. I did de-brand it, which sort of helped, a little. But it didn't have the necessary horsepower to drive S60 in any reasonable or meaningful manner.

Nice to look at, easy to hold, but a right pig in the performance stakes.

Lol, yes, the N80 was a great handset. Until you had to use it.

Ended up loathing mine. Replaced it with the N73, which rivalled the Z1010 for one of the buggiest handsets I've ever owned. I still loved it more.

Someone at Nokia thought it would be a great idea to stick a new OS on its new flagship device, with its new super high resolution screen, but opted to run it all on the cpu from the last generation 6630/6680. We now know this wasn't a great idea, in fact it was a terrible idea.

Unfortunately besides the N95 its one that Nokia seem to repeat far to often, the N900 offers a ray of hope, and Symbian^3. For what its worth FOTA on my 5800 has been pretty reasonable, albeit the phone as a whole is somewhat dull. :)
