Google Navigation is now available in the UK by downloading Google Maps 4.1.1 and Nav Launcher from the Android Market.

The free voice turn by turn navigation system works on Android 1.6 and 2.0/2.1 phones so at present not the G2 or Hero but will work on the Desire, Nexus One and others.

This is superb - I have it running on the Nexus One - took it for a little walk around Brick Lane area (E1) today and it was spot on.

I'm guessing you can't get away from the fact that things are hardly ever where they're supposed to be? I was using Google Maps on my iPhone in London again on Saturday - it gets you close, but then you're on your own. We found the restaurant by complete damn chance.
