Just got my Orange 3G data card today.

In the DVD style box you get

Novatel Wireless Merlin U530 data card
Usim
Install CD
Manual

I have got it on a 30 free trial. No charges

I will report back after more usage, but first impressions are very good.

The interface is easy to use and it supports text msg and host of other features

I got the free trial through my business account manager

But I have found this link for the free try period

I must admit I have had the issue with it not working correctly on startup, I have found just leaving my laptop to fully load up then its ok

ok found a way to use the Orange data card without using the Orange SW

Only tried it with Win XP pro service pack 2

First install the SW as described in the Orange instruction book

Once installed use all of the access buttons you need on the Orange SW control panal( you will know what I mean if you have a data card)

You really only need internet 3G-GPRS, so connection once using the Orange software by pressing on the internet button and this will then install the correct connection detials

This will then install the DUN in the network connections area.

You then need to uninstall the Orange software via add and remove programmes.

Once completed and if you have used of the functions then should have all the connections you need in network connections. To access the internet and email double click on the one that says internet 3G-GPRS and bingo connected

Its worked for me
