just got this email from o2:

On March 22 our simplicity prices are changing. Top up your simplicity sim now and you'll get unlimited texts for only £5. Or you could pay a bit more for inclusive minutes or web browsing.

Nothing on the web yet bee keen to see how much they are incrreasing

Think I found the answer? : http://service.o2.co.uk/IQ/SRVS/CGI-BIN/WEBCGI.EXE?New,Kb=Companion,question=ref(User):str (Mobile),CASE=ref(VAT)#PG

What will happen to customers on Pay & Go simplicity because of the VAT increase?

We’re going to change the price of our simplicity allowances. If you’re on Pay & Go simplicity, we’ll contact you nearer the time to explain how these increases may affect you. The good news is we aren’t changing these prices until March 2011. I note texts up from 10p to 12? I bet all other prices go up to , it be a rip off and yet more information:

I got a txt from o2 the other day stating that after the 22nd Of March 2011, any calls made outside of my pay & go simplicity allowance, will now cost me 35p/min ! Thats a 15p increase to what is it now (20p). Does anyone else think this is increase is heafty?! A friend of mine also told me that o2 are thinking of raising the unlimited txts from £5 to £7.50: http://forum.o2.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=61961

The finner deatils have been releaseed. Anyone on this plan I say look else were

http://www.o2.co.uk/explore/tariffs/paymonthly/simplicity

I note all prices have gone up unlimited texts from £5 to £7.50. Out of bundle calls from 20p to 35p, texts now 12p..Only thing is you now get free calls to CS, wifi if you need it or even have a up to date handset and know how to work it. And finally the price has gone up from £15 pounds to £15.50p in line with cough VAT. Question I have will o2 now accept a £7.50 top up for Textx or will it be min top up pof £10 in respect of the £15.50 will they accept it as top up or will min now be £20 pounds???? so many questions

Sorry o2 thers other networks that beat this Giffgaff for one, maybe three for another and even basic plan on orange charges 12 a call and text.

seems a knee jerk reaction to the Mobile Termination Rates announcement by OFCOM. I may have to hang on to my Iphone 30% discount tariff for a little longer and shop around
