At the Nokia Connection event in Singapore today, Nokia announced that it will start shipping Nokia N8s, E7s, C7s and C6-01s with Symbian Anna in July.

so if you buy an existing device in July it will come with Symbian Anna, yay. so what about existing customers Nokia?

If you already own one of these devices, you can download the software by the end of August.

if the software is suitable for devices shipped in July, why will it not be available til end of August for existing customers?

Have Nokia not learnt anything from Apple?

Nokia’s CEO Stephen Elop said in his keynote that over the next 12 months the company plans to bring up to 10 new Symbian-based smartphones to market.

well if they continue to ship devices with new firmware and not update existing devices at same time who will be buying a symbian device?

I, too, was mystified by Elop's description of the roll out of Symbian Anna. You have to wonder if anyone has control of what is going on at Nokia right now. Clearly, there has been very little direction for the past year or so.

Every time I read something about Nokia it leaves me wanting to scream "Get a grip!"
