You can check if 3g900 is in your area now using http://status.o2.co.uk

or the coverage checker http://www.o2.co.uk/coveragechecker using your handset type

Well done o2 very usefull info

Using the coverage checker you can switch between standard and 3g900 to see the difference.

Good call 02.

This will help folks decide if the new 900Mhz 3G coverage will benefit them.

It most definately will indoors in suburban areas and should make 3G more available in rural areas.

At first sight the 900Mhz coverage looks very comprehensive and not unlike their 2100Mhz coverage although 900Mhz wil be far more robust than any 2100Mhz coverage.

02 has long been the 3G tortoise but looking at this map their recent development could quickly make them the hare.

Vodafone now need to do something similar to capitalise on their 900Mhz UMTS availabilty.

Coverage checker claims I should have 3g900 in Ashford Kent but field test on iPhone 4 says different. The coverage checker is a work of fiction I think. Potential customers might be impressed looking at the checker but would be let down in reality.

Just checked my coverage using my Samsung Galaxy S with an 02 USIM and it has 900Mhz UMTS :)

First I have seen.

Good signal strength and fast web page loading.

Will try a speedtest later.

Well it's working for me. I now get 3G coverage inside quite a few places where I didn't before.

Whatever the criticisms, at least O2 is publishing projected coverage - Vodafone seem strangely silent on on 3G900

It's working for me too :)

02 have a big positive selling advantage with 900Mhz UMTS.

Cheers Solo, you answered my question. I checked the coverage map for Belfast and thought that it looked too good to be true.

I found some 3G900 up at the Uni! Hilariously, this is what it says!

"Good outdoors. OK indoors. Not good for mobile broadband."

Not good for mobile broadband? Lmao.

None in anywhere useful to me yet.
