I'd certainly like to give O2 3G a couple of tries to/from my Voda SIM... Orange 3G is about as stable as a giraffe in hurricane Katrina down here at the moment.
Try them, Getti. They can't be activated AFAIK, they have to replace the SIM with a USIM (they've taken the Orange route?) so it'd all depend on who you speak to I'd imagine. Tell them you've got a 3G phone and ask them if they'll replace your 2G SIM card with a 3G one to use in it.

You need a special 3G SIM from 02 to use their 3G services. AFAIK they don't charge to supply these but you have to call 02 Customer Service and request one. It takes about 3-4 days to arrive and you have to contact them to activate it and transfer your existing 02 number to it. Terms are the same but you get 'Video for voice' calls until 30th September on 02 PAYG and contracts.

It took me almost 3 weeks to persuade o2 online to supply me with a payg 3g sim. All sorts of excuses of why I couldnt have one including that they only supplied them with a new handset.
They did send out a usim but they messed up the over the air updates. In the end they configured a trial 3g sim of their own for me and sent it direct with a compliment slip plus a credit for the inconvienince of not having my mobile number for 2 weeks. On the whole the 3g works fine video calls and all. only thing is I get the basis o2 wap menu as the Motorola e1000 phone is not in their portfolio and therefore cant have the nice o2 active with graphics menu.
