How to work out if your Nokia-supplied MMC could cause you problems. There are 5 types - look at the text on the card:
NOT OK - Last 4 digits in 2nd row = 0500-0521. Letter after JPN in 2nd row = A. No text after 3rd row. OK - Last 4 digits = 0522 or 0533. Letter after JPN = A. No text after 3rd row. OK - Last 4 digits = 0524 or greater. Letter = B. No text. OK - same as NOT OK, but text 'B' after 3rd row. OK - CE mark, 2 rows of text below & KOREA. Hope this helps!

You card should be: CE MC12U064DACA-QC Q8E500000 519 by KOREA & is OK. Only possibly dodgy if you've got JPN in the second row.

i already did that, brought & showed that 'bulletin' to nokia when i claimed my 'new mmc' but was told that they have NOT been given ANY official notice like that from their Head Office, so they cannot make any comment about it... the most irritating part is they keep on insisting that the 'disappearing act' may be caused by the applications/games i have installed on my mmc!!! i told them that they are so wrong with this assumption because these applications i have now in my 6680 are the very same applications i have installed previously in my 6630 & they didnt cause me any problems before! why buy a symbian phone with upgradable memory if i cannot install applications? i think they are just finding reasons for their faulty mmc! oh well, i will try this 'newly-issued' mmc one more time, but if that disappearing act persists with this one, i will just buy d branded ones, one that is not branded "nokia", he,he Last edited by ritaritz575 : 7th July 2005 at 02:15 AM.
