It could just be that the phone needs to be on charge for a few hours. If the battery is totally dead a handset often will not start. However, if the battery has lost the ability to hold a charge the handset may not start at all....
Exactly , my u8110 needed an hour or so before it showed any sign of life when I revived it recently !
