Dial-A-Phone prepay push
May 26, 2005

Dial-A-Phone is to begin selling prepay handsets for the first time in its ten-year history. The move takes it into competition with operators’ own websites and volume prepay connectors such as the multiples, Woolworths and Argos.

The high-volume distance seller plans to start offering prepay from June, although the launch may slip into July.

It is believed that the timing of the move is not connected to any anticipated increase in activity from an operator in the prepay market.

The company is understood to feel that it has missed out on potential sales from its website, which receives a high level of traffic.

3, a big seller on Dial-A-Phone, is currently not pushing prepay sales after a period of explosive prepay growth.
