Twitter?

Anyone else using it? I've made "benfitter", which is great but, of course, no one is listening I'm using Tweetie on the iPhone - seems really slick!

Not entirely sure I get Twitter to be honest. So it's going to be a case of try-it-and-see.

I registered (Hands0n) but, like you, really don't get it. I'm sure it has its place in the grand scheme of things. But I have sufficient trouble with Facebook 'status' so Twittering all and every day is just not something I would even contemplate doing.

Those few Twitters that I have decided to 'follow' are mainly tech, and then they are rather spammy ...

I've got an account but again I don't get it. I've just recently started using Facebook, only because friends keep pestering me about it. Again, don't really get it.. but I guess it's a good way to keep in touch.

Is email too old fashioned for some people these days? :-)

So glaf to find it's not just me ! I was a bit embarrassed to put my hand up and say I don't get it !

So, from what I understand , it is just like yor status in Facebook ? Even with the excellent iPhone Facebook app , I find myself not bothering with it (novelty wore off after a few weeks , and unless I am really bored , or really pissed off by something , my status is usually a week or so out of date !

I may have to try this just to see if it is as pointless as I imagine , or if there is some hidden merit to it !!

Yeah it's pretty much Facebook statuses, but set out more as a broadcast SMS that anyone can tune into. As Tweetie looks pretty good I'll give it a go for a while and see if anything becomes of it, but I'm sceptical!

having to learn the d username for direct messages, @ username for reply messages, and then status posts as well

ah , cheers - I am not sure whether that would be cool or a pain in the backside though ! getting an SMS every time anyone scratches their nuts could become a little annoying !

Must get round to Twitter sometime soon. Currently exploring Facebook - I love the Facebook App for the iPhone! I'm sure there will be Push Notifications soon!
