ExclamationDelete/Remove Operator Logo on 6680/N70 (Series 60)

A member asked me today how to remove a network branded operator logo from their N70 and, just to be sure, I wanted to post what I said to make sure it's easy for everyone to find.

First off you'll need to install FExplorer, an essential Series 60 application. Get it here: http://www.gosymbian.com/FE_download.html

Now. Open it up, click on C:\
Now click the System folder
Followed by the Apps folder
Then the Phone folder
And finally the OpLogo folder

My OpLogo folder is empty because I don't have a graphical operator logo. If you do, and you want rid of it, you can remove it from this folder. Alternatively you can change it to a logo of your choice (but I've never done that... so good luck!)

tried it and I got there OK. I have two graphic logos that came with the phone for Three and O2 however it rarely seemed to pickup the Three one.

I cant seem to install it on to my phone for some insane reason. I've downloaded it and when I open it on my PC it loads up the Nokia software manager and tries to install it on to my phone. I get some crazy security error. Another way?

There's quite a few guides online now, but that security mumbo is because you have your phone set to only allow Signed programs. If you just put it in install ON it should install. Old news I'm afraid but it was almost the first thing i saw on google.

Best thing to do is to replace this logo with a 97 x 25 pixel image with the correct name for your phone's operator code country etc.

Hi Lefin, welcome to Talk3G!

Thanks for updating this thread.

To anyone who considers themself a Series 60 amateur, it would be advisable to turn application installation off again when you're done - just to be doubly safe against any nasty malware.
